I have just noticed that my keyboard rattles. I am not talking about keyclick sounds which are a quite different and much quieter sound.

On my 2016 MacBook, if I rest the fingers of my left hand on the area to the left of the trackpad, or anywhere else on the top plate, with light pressure it completely damps the rattle and all I hear is normal key clicks.

I am wondering if something is coming loose in my MacBook. I can't be certain how long this has been going on, but it sure would be nice to just have the key clicks.

I have Applecare so will probably call them.

What kind of rattle is it? Does it sound like something is loose inside or like an extended ringing from hitting the key? Does it only occur while typing? Can you make it rattle by tapping on the case around that side?

Thanks for the thoughts. I have examined it some more and discovered that actually it only happens on my hard desktop, and that if I put a piece of paper under the near left pad it stops it. The four feet are not quite level. I have put it back in its Moshi case which removes the rattle.
