When I wake up my iMac after the display turns off, it flickers once. It also flickers once when I wake it up from sleep.

Is this normal? I ask because before with my previous iMac (I got it replaced 3-4 days ago), I never noticed it. I'm guessing that it never occurred with my previous one. Or maybe it did?

My iMac 3.06 Ghz actually flickers up 30 sec, after waking up from sleep. I don't know what to do with this. Sometimes it flickers when I'm operating it normally too..

Mine has been flickering one time after it has been sleeping entirely or if only the display has been put to sleep. Something interesting happened just now. The display had been sleeping for around 2 hours. When I moved the mouse the display came back on without a flicker. I typed in my password and logged in. Once the desktop loaded the screen went black and stayed black until I moved the mouse again. The last iMac I had was just returned for gradient issues. I hope nothing goes wrong with this one. Let's pray I'll never have to test out the AppleCare I bought!

Every time, I get one quick flicker at full brightness, and then it goes to whatever I level I had it set to.

    More than just a flicker.

A teacher at one of the schools I service has her newer Macbook doing a lot more than just flickering:

After waking from sleep (whether lid close or open) many times the lower half of screen is grayed out and upper part has flickering lines that is somewhat detectable. I did a screen shot, but it actually took a shot of the whole screen as it should be when normal. It eventually works out to normal after a couple of minutes.

I did PRAM reset; fixed disk permissions; ran verify disk; and did updates. Put it to sleep for a while again, and it was still doing the problem upon waking.

Not sure if this is a display problem or software problem.

Any others experience this and find a remedy?
