That's great. What are you doing to make it last so long. Did have to restore or what? Yours is much better than mine. Not sure what to do to get max life.

Ok here's my battery usage today. Moderate use. I streamed a podcast for about an hr and 15 mins. Auto- Brightsness at 50 percent too!

not much really, I have wifi and Bluetooth on all the time. just safari, email (push is on), text, some games, Facebook and twitter. brightness is a little under half. I did setup my iPhone 5 as new and not from backup.

I think anyone who has battery problems definitely return the phone and exchange it.

Ok so I think I can make 17hrs on standby with the battery run down. Not willing to stay up late at night to see the battery go down to zero.

I start the day fully charged and it depends on my usage. I have been streaming a radio show in the morning so after streaming that for about an hour and 45 minutes I am down to 60%. Does that seem like a lot to go down 40%? I am streaming over cellular.

I really feel like my battery life was better before the update. Any tips?

I can get through a whole day with my 4S and still have about 30-40% left at night. Sometimes I can go 2 days without charging depending on how much I'm using it. My battery stats are usually 9+ hours of use, and 25-26 hours standby.

Don't know why so many made a fuss over the 4S battery, mine seems pretty strong. Maybe I got lucky.

During the week when I'm not on my phone much at work, my i5 could probably get through a day and half before it needed to be charged (I always charge it before I go to bed). However, I use it more extensively over the weekend, and it still lasts me the entire day, though I tend to be bit conservative with its use when the battery dips below 20%.

My iPhone 4s lasts me throughout the day, as long as I charge it overnight and leave the house with 100% battery. I get home with around 30% to 40%, I have my data turned on, I listen to music and sometimes play games.

Nowadays cases with external batteries are a huge help.

I listen to podcast for 6hrs, talk to my wife for 2 hrs and speak to my kids. Then I go back and listen to podcast the rest of my shift. By the time I get home my battery is between 50% to 45% oh and I surf the net for a few and checkout Facebook and twiter. I'm not sure if it's good or not as far battery usage but I'm happy with it. By the way I have a 4s.

I use it ALOT and it lasts all day, when I don't use it as much I'm almost certain that it will last longer then a day

For those saying you have 3/4 or 1/2 full batteries at the end of your day or that you don't need a charge and it lasts more then a day, I wonder how often you really use your phones.

I'm 22, I use my phone pretty frequently, and my phone certainly will not last a full day. Of course, my full day is 9am to like 2am (after going out). Anything game-related kills my battery. It lasts longer if you keep it to soft games that aren't processing/data/graphically intensive (turn based games, etc - versus full fledged racing games).

I'm not saying that the battery life on the iPhone 5 sucks. I'm just saying that it simply won't last you a day if you're anything more than a conservative user. So be sure you always keep a charging cable in your car or an extra one on hand, because when my phone dies I feel like a part of me died, haha.

Coming from the iPhone 4, the iPhone 5 battery life is worse (perhaps I am using it a bit more). My iPhone 4 would usually last my entire day, I would say by the time my iPhone 5 dies (when I get home if I don't charge in my car) my iPhone 4 would be anywhere from 10-20%. However, for some people who use their phones less then me, it might be a good thing. This is because the battery will be healthier in the iPhone 5 as it is nearly fully dead when you charge it versus charging an iPhone 4 at 20% overnight. The more complete the charging/deplete cycle the better. But versus my brother and sister's iPhone 4S the battery life on the iPhone 5 is marginally better. I'd say that if we performed the same tasks on both the 4S and the 5, the 4S would have 20% and the 5 would have close to 40% battery life remaining.

Another thing that kills my battery life is the signal strength of your service. the lower it is, the faster the battery life falls. When I go out to my cousin's house who lives in the boondocks my phone is constantly searching and sucks my battery life dead unless I put it on airplane mode. :(

Fully agree, if i hardly used my phone i'd probably get a day and a half maybe 2 days out of it. I'm quite a heavy user and the phone is in my hand or in my trouser pocket close to hand most of the day and is used hourly for one thing or the other, never left on my desk or in my coat pocket.

My 5 seems much better then my 4S was as usually when i got home from work at 18:00 after taking off charge at 07:00 it would be down to 20% or less. My 5 on the other hand is usually between 40%-30% and this is with 3G & WiFi on all day. I used to turn the 3G off and use only WiFi on my 4S to save battery so it probably would have been less if i had that on all day.

So i'm quite impressed with the battery performance on the 5 so far, just hope it doesn't get worse with future iOS updates.

Yup all day with 1 - 2 bars of service inside my work building. I go to work with 100% battery and leave with about 88%. Usually there for about 9-10 hrs.

Haven't seen any issues with my 5's battery with LTE on. I usually stream music from my iphone to my car stereo via bluetooth for my 20 mins to and 20 mins from work, LTE is on all day, wifi is on all day, bluetooth is on all day. I usually drop from LTE to 3G when I go inside my building (typically it switches back and forth between the two while I am in there. I have Verizon for a carrier. My AT&T iphone 4 got no reception in my building. I usually got about 1 bar of signal in my house or no signal on my iPhone 4. Now I get 2-3 bars of signal with my verizon iP5.

My iphone 4 though used to get great battery life though. So far I am not disappointed with the iphone 5. With that said, I would have kept the 4 if you could transfer an AT&T model phone to Verizon. I was going to wait for the 5S or 6 to upgrade but since I was switching carriers I figured I might as well get the new phone. I miss my JB though with the toggles in the notification screen.

I have noticed though I use a lot less data on Verizon than I did with AT&T. my wife would max out her 2 GB plan each month. I usually used about 1 GB to 1.5 GB of data on my unlimited plan. Usually my wife would use about 2.5-3 GB of data each month. We now have a 6 GB plan but so far I haven't noticed us use more than 1 GB total. Maybe my wife stopped streaming Pandora all day. or AT&T is doing something weird with their dataplan usages.

I'm on my 7th charge and averaging 6-7 hours usage and over a days standby between each one.
It's my first iphone and is on wifi quite a lot, either at work using my mifi or when i'm at home. No LTE here either.
Location services, push email, bluetooth (it's connected to a headset for probably 8 hours+ daily) are all on. I bought the phone to use the features but pleased i'm almost going 2 days most of the time before charges.

Well, I recently calibrated my phone battery and the percentage seems to have shown a fairly significant improvement, ending the day with 10-20% more battery life than before. :)
