Mine seems to stall around 96-97% regardless of what charger I use.

Could just be the phone still settling down from the restore.

Try a hard reset while it’s still plugged into the charger and see if that helps.

Same thing but the restore process isn’t complete and I’m in the car so my phone brightness is high.

Mine got stuck at 80% for about 45 minutes, did a hard reset twice and then stuck at 82%, on the phone with apple now

Mine eventually settled down and went to 100%... seems like even with the 29W charger, all the stuff going on in the background wasn't enough to let the battery gain until the restore was completely done.

Anything after 80%-90% is trickle charging so it takes much much longer to get those last few %'s in irrespective of the power of the charger.

Considering this is the largest battery ever on an iPhone, it'll likely take some time for people to get used to it.

I get that... but this was at the same percentage for more than 1.5 hrs... not a trickle issue.

Doesn't the iPhone 7 Plus have a higher-capacity battery?

Same issue here!
After the restore completed, it settled down and I was finally able to charge normally. Seems like the restore really stresses the phone and consumes all the energy it can get.

Mine was stuck at 82% but I have been downloading 80GB of Apple music over several hours what was the reason why it didn’t reach more than 82%.
I shut it down and after a restart when the download/restore was finished it charged to 100%.
