+1 here

I always put a screen protector on my MacBook's screens. You talk (and spit), accidentally touch the screen, this and that... it's just easier to clean a protector and I'm not worried it'll damage the coating like it did on my Retina MacBook (I put one of these protectors with black bezels on that one to fix that, lol).

I have used A4 paper for a few days. No more mark on the screen. Based on those 2016-2019 butterfly models, any potential negative issue in doing this? Sure, A4 paper is thicker than the one which came with the machine.

Try onion paper

So far so good with the Microfiber in post #25, cut to fit:

Best solution I've found, so far. Not sure why RadTech can't just make something thinner like this.

Nope. But your screen will eventually get scratched and marked. This is normal for all post-2016 MacBooks because again, Apple is using a much thinner glass layer that is very easy to mark compared to the pre-2015 MacBooks that were built like tanks.

If anything, screen protector will keep the computer going longer and give you peace of mind... knowing it's not that easy to scratch up the display for any reason at all.

Do you mean even the surface of paper is rough enough to scratch the screen of the MBP 16"?

Yes. If it's anything like the 2016 - 2018 MacBooks, practically everything can scratch it. Heck, if it's not scratched, it'll be dented because a particle just happened to hit the screen at the right angle while it was floating around in mid air.

Apparently, the 2018 and 2019 MacBooks still seem to have it. I don't know if the 16" is "special" and somehow the only MacBook currently in production that does not have this issue... but I would not take my chances.

Thanks. Will pay more attention to this.

How is the Uppercase GhostBlanket Screen Keyboard Imprint Protection Microfiber Liner and Cleaning Cloth compared with the Microfiber in post #25? At 0.4mm, it is just a bit thicker.

All this talk about how fragile the mbp screen is. The demo ones at Costco and some stores look good. I doubt they get changed weekly. Probably cleaned daily though.
