I searched and I couldn't find this in a poll...

Does anyone's MM Push mail actually work? Mine only works when I open the Mail app and let it sit there. It doesn't work from the home screen.

So, does your push mail work? Here's how you can check:

    1. Make sure your phone / iPod is set up for MobileMe push (not fetch). Settings -> Fetch new data -> ON.

    2. Send an e-mail to your MobileMe account.

    3. Before you click Send, bring your iPhone to the home screen.

    4. Click send and wait to see if the message count goes up by one within a minute.

    Mine doesn't work.

(This should go without saying, but please don't vote if you don't use MobileMe on your iPhone / iPod)

Apple has already said that they are having problems with the push service aka it doesn't work at all. The new firmware is also suposed to drop the support altogether until they get it working.

My email Push has worked from day 1. I have had a few times when it stopped for a while but then starts again. I have been on 2.0, 2.01 and now 2.02.

Just to clarify your instructions above. That is only part of what needs to be done.

    Fetch New Data:

    1. Fetch New Data "Push" see "On" inside.

    2. Under Fetch, mine is set to Manually. This is for non-push accounts.

    3. Under Advanced - see your account. Should see 2. 1 for Contacts, Calendars and 1 for Mail. Both should be "Push".

Mail, Contacts, Calendar: See your mail Account:

Set all to "On" if you want them to be controlled by MobileMe.

Well, I joined MobileMe today, and after 5 hours haven't been able to get one email pushed to my iPhone. All settings are correct, I've even deleted/re-added the MobileMe account 3 times, restarted my iPhone, messed around with all settings, it's just not having any of it.

    Within a minute??? lol :p

Push "works" for me, but it takes anywhere from 5-60+ minutes to get it pushed. By your definition, it doesn't work for me, although I think it works (kinda).

Because of the "1 minute" time limit, I think this poll is way too heavily skewed towards "not working", even though you can say that it's working for many (most?). I'm not going to vote.

Works pretty good for me. My girlfriend just got a blackberry and we both stopped texting and starting using email as we both have push email. With the exception of one email today that was delayed a few hours it's been pretty rock solid for me the last week.

Thanks to push email, I've been able to cut down my bill by $10 by going with a smaller text plan. I'm all for saving a little money!

Mine works when a new email is sent to my MobileMe account, but when I delete a new email on it doesn't push to the phone, my phone will continue to think I have a new email until I open the app and it refreshes itself.

I started and cancelled a mobile me account yesterday. I have been using mail2web very successfully, but the hope of getting everything 'under one roof' with support for images and storage etc was very tempting, and with a 60 day trial, I thought it was a great opportunity to try it out.

In around 6 hours I did not get one pushed email. I had turned mail2web onto manual. Checked the setup several times. But no push. I rebooted the device, turned the radio off and on again, but seriously, nothing worked.

I use windows, and the OWA was the slowest I have ever seen. Much, much slower than mail2web's. Half the time, appointments or contacts wouldn't show at all. I'd go to another folder, and back again, and like magic they would appear.

Some (not all) birthdays appeared a day before they were supposed to. I checked both timezone settings and they were correctly set for GMT - London.
Tried for help on this one, but the 'genius' seemed to think that all my appointments were at the wrong time when it was only around 20% of birthdays only. The rest were fine.

Also, it was irritating that outlook only updates every 15 minutes. Not a deal breaker, but not what you'd expect for £59 a year.

After 6 hours of frustration, I decided to end the trial and go back to mail2web. I may bite the bullet and go for their paid service which would sync my outlook automatically as well, and use something else for 'cloud' storage. All in all, it could be really great, I wanted it to be really great, but it was a bit of p in the a. Not ready for prime time.

You might also want to take a look at It's still in beta (and currently free), but it supposedly allows you to push google contacts and google calendar to the iPhone. You'd still use mail2web to get push email, though.

It seems faster, today. Earlier this week, my mail took anywhere from 5-60+ minutes to push out.

I have to go into mail to check for new messages. The homepage count doesn't increase. If Apple has turned this off while they're figuring this out they should take down the promotional video on the MobileMe page.

The video shows the count updating on the home page of an iPhone when new mail is received. Doesn't work on my iPod touch.
