Next time Rob starts snoring, chuck a bookcase at him. It might break his nose and then he'll have to go to hospital for a while and you can get some sleep.

That or lace his food with anti-histamines...

I usually end up storming out of the room with pillow, cat and spare blanket in tow, headed for the couch.

Wake him up. I shake/poke my boyfriend 'til he wakes up rolls off his back, and stops snoring. :p But then again, he says he doesn't mind.

Yeah, Rob is usually really nice and gets me a glass of water, a breathing strip, or just helps me turn over. Problem is I am a fist-class bitch™ when I am trying to sleep; best not to eff with me.

He will usually turn over if I wake him, but he will be back sawing logs within moments. Sometimes I just take a Xanax so I won't hear him.

Snore?

Do you ever have to hit the couch in order to get some sleep?

It's allergy season here. Nuff said.

Anyone every try the nose strips - any other remedies?

My brother went to a sleep clinic, and was given a breathing machine. At 48 years old, he's never felt better in his life. It wasn't just allergies (which he has), but just breathing and waking difficulties in general. I know several people who have them and think they're wonderful.

My wife sleeps with my daughter, so I have a queen size bed to myself. Cats don't snore.

My gray cat does. No joke. Okay, well, it's more like wheezing or heavy breathing, but it's definitely close to snoring. :p

You sure he's not allergic to the cat? God knows I am - hate the bloody things, a mate of mine has one of those cats that just seems to shed more hair than it grows and when I'm down visiting him all I do is sneeze. You could seriously gather up all the hair that damn things sheds and make a whole new cat every single day.

Have you looked into a sleep clinic? They normally have some really good solutions for problem snorers.

Nope. Only occasionally and quietly.

I don't snore but I make high pitched noises while I sleep. :)

That'll be your built-in smoke alarm. Change your battery.

Don't know what is worse; the snoring or the talking in their sleep!

I've been known to do both.

My level of loudness depends on how stuffy I am, but I'd say I'm a regular snorer--and like to sleep on my back. The hubby is, too, although he doesn't like to admit it. :D The trick is for us to both fall asleep around the same time. That's a bit harder to do since I usually tend to fall asleep a lot more quickly than he does (except for lately)....

iGary your typos are amazing today.

I seriously don't know what is up with my typing lately - it is starting to worry me - for real.

That's a hilarious slip, though.

Hmmm, so does my gray cat. Loud enough to be heard over the TV. :D

You have to take the cat? On "snoring" nights, as soon as I open the bedroom door, it's a stampede between the beagle, the lab, and myself as to who gets out first. Lucky for the cats, there's a cat door, so they can escape anytime.

yeah my wife snores bad, and i mean really really bad. i myself do snore a little but mainly due to allergies. not to mention the wife and i sleep on a queen size bed and she has a body pillow. that thing is like having another person in the bed, and even though i wish it was female it still just isn't worth it. usually i let my wife go to bed early and I stay up a little late and come to bed so she is good and asleep, i can go to sleep anytime anywhere pretty much under any conditions, her on the other hand if you fart while she is trying to go to sleep gets up set.

so sometimes, it is the me the pillow and the trusty dog lula bell who follows me around everywhere and we go to the backroom to go to sleep.

the other night i did that and lula bell and jumped into bed and my son crawled into bed sometime during the night. there is this picture of me asleep with my son laying half on me the other half ot the bed and the dog sleeping on in some wierd position,.

the dog sleeps in the most funniest positions, she sleeps on her back with her head rotated wierd with all fours up in the air. my wife grabs the camera and put in on a card for me on my birthday.

Crap that made me laugh, so wrong though, so wrong

But back to the OT, made a pact, snoring not good for either in the bed so if one was doing it, full on for the other to initiate wake up/stop the snoring. Both would sleep better, and no punching was allowed. Worked well, though only rarely needed. Neither big back sleepers

I don't, thankfully. I have been known to talk occasionally though, most often incomprehensable. My ex didn't complain so much about the noise as she's a moderate sleeper and I'm usually quiet, her beef with sleeping in the same bed was that I moved around too goddamn much. I was with thie other girl awhile back and she was fracking LOUD. I got practically zero sleep that night because I couldn't find a way to cover my ears.

My uncle is aso quite the snorer and he's gone to a sleep clinic recently, they said that it was probably because he had trouble breathing. Not sure if that would apply to any other heavy snorers but that's what they diagnosed him as...

Snoring is Sooooooo Offensive

The People's Army of China has decided snoring is such an intrusion that it no longer allows Officer Candidates to be snorers. This of course begs the question how does the army figure out if it soliders snore. Do they walk into a barracks and say (Best Drill Sgt, voice) ~ `ALL RIGHT, NOW I'M GONNA READ YOU GOODNIGHT MOON!' or it more of a 'IS THAT A DEVIATED SEPTUM? I'VE SEEN A LOT OF SEPTUM AND YOURS LOOKS DEVIANT!' ~

My wife tried some of those nose strips once and she ended up peeling it off in the night because it was uncomfortable.

I snore like a freight train, so my wife just knows to fall asleep before me.

I've shoved her off the bed before cos I tried going to sleep for two hours one night and couldn't. Pillow/blankets of head, turning up white nosie maker, plugging ears... nothing worked.

When I was traveling with work once, I shared a hotel room with a new recruit. He snored so godamn loud that I ended up pelting him with loose change just to get him to roll over.

Wow. Are you sure he wasn't pretending just to make a bit of cash?

Snoring doesn't bother me...I try to fall asleep first!!

:)

However, grinding of teeth does annoy me. When my wife is stressed, I'll hear it more often.
