Just got my nice shiny unibody macbook (UK Refurb) and have spent the last 6 hours playing with it and getting things installed etc.

All was going well until I eventually noticed a bright spot just to the right of the edit menu. For a good 5 mins or so I panicked, thinking I had some sort of screen defect then the truth dawned - I had the default starscreen wallpaper on and all I was seeing was a star through the transparency of the top bar.

They had me worried for a while..

Still, excellent piece of kit and looking forward to getting to know it.

(Ok - not a 'help' thread as much but I felt the need to shout 'D'oh' and be heard)

Well there is an easy way to make it solid- just go into your System Preferences and choose the "Desktop & Screensaver" pane. From within that, click the "Desktop" tab at the top and then uncheck the selection that reads "Translucent Menu Bar".

Thanks for that, will give it a shot.
