    Hello MacRumors,

I have an mid-2012 MBA since just over a week. I installed Perian to view .mkv files in Divx player and it worked just fine. I now updated to ML and I can't play audio anymore in Divx player. I have a message that I need to install a Dolby AC3 audio codec. I reinstalled Perian but this did not solve the problem.

Did anybody else encounter this problem or knows how to solve this?

    Thanks in advance!

Use VLC or MplayerX. The age of installing random codes has ended years ago.

    You are welcome.

I suggested two players because they are like counterparts - one has some useful features the other don't. Better keep them both just in case ;)

    Same Problem

I have the exact same problem, no sound on quicktime or divx playing avi movie files. I know that VLC works fine but I'd like to have quicktime as my default player... I read that perian will stop developing updates so that will be a problem for using quicktime in the next days...
