I still buy and rip cds. There is no easy way for me to see if a an album is mine when buying on the go, if I already have it my library.

Additionally, a quite a bit of my personal music was replaced with Apple's versions, a couple of the times I tried Apple Music, which aren't always the same. I had to restore from a backup.

Hmm... I can see how that would be annoying. I ripped all my CDs to lossless and keep them on my NAS - any new music is just streamed. Plus Atmos is generally mushier although spatial effects can be pleasing when done right.

These days though, I'm good with AAC versions - I generally listen on earbuds, or in the car, so there is no benefit most of the time to listening to higher quality versions. Plus - my hearing isn't quite what it used to be.

huh? lots of people use their phones as an alarm clock. what are you even talking about

I've had a few employees come in late this week with the same issue, on iPhones. The alarm was sounding visually, but not making any sound. Once a year or so it happens...same issue.

I had my iPhone alarm fail on me a few years ago. After one time, I moved back to a regular alarm clock with a battery backup. Never fails. I get up at 0430, so it's a bit important...though I do usually wake up before it sounds.

Ignorant question: why?
I have a full Atmos home theater setup but if I stream Apple Music to my receiver or tv it’s just stereo but I can activate it on my Windows pc with just a stereo speaker setup. What does Apple mean with Atmos??
How are you sending it to your receiver? I use the Apple Music app on my Apple TV all the time for Atmos. I don’t believe it will work over AirPlay.

The biggest mistake they made with Apple Music was trying to shoehorn the iTunes library management in with the streaming service. They should've spun old iTunes off as a separate utility for people who still want that.

Apple Music tries to be a music streaming app and a music library management app and does neither very well.
This sums up my feelings about iTunes/Apple Music entirely.

Personally, this is what I like most about Apple Music and what really sets it apart from Spotify and other services.

Being able to upload my own music and mix and match it with streaming music is an amazing feature that I haven’t found anywhere else.

Apple Music is by far my favorite Apple product/service, and even during my time using Windows and Android, Apple Music was the only Apple thing I used. I can see myself going back to Android and Windows, but not abandoning AM.

AirPlay, yes.

I hope one day they’ll make an Apple TV that supports bitstreaming. By then I’ll see what the Atmos Apple Music is all about then 😊

Surprised that the feature has been made available to Windows users. Good for those accessing Apple music via Windows.

so you're the type that gives up on things after only one instance of failure. thus anyone else who doesn't is a masochist.

got it.

Hyperbole. No one has a sense of humane anymore.

You left out the part where I've had multiple employees report the same thing, multiple times. I've seen it posted on here multiple times, there has been articles over and over about iPhone alarm failures.

I just prefer a regular alarm clock anyway. The wife and I don't use our phones in the bedroom, and leave them to charge in the kitchen overnight. Sleep hygiene!
