Noticed today on some TV shows that there is a DD/AC3 logo beside the HD logo when browsing Netflix on the ATV2.

I havent got my ATV2 connected to the AV reciever at the moment so can anybody try this out and see if there is 5.1 available now? I noticed this on the latest season of Psych available and on the first season of Lost...

This is great if so, now all I need is subs for Netflix as well :)

I'm also seeing the Dolby logo cropping up. However my receiver isn't detecting Dolby Digital within the Netflix app yet. I suspect Netflix is showing the Dolby bug ahead of the iOS 4.3 update that's coming out for iOS devices this coming Friday. I don't think this is something Netflix can just enable, I think a firmware update has to occur before Netflix can actually stream Dolby Digital on the ATV.

I Agree. I'm not getting 5.1 audio on movies with the DD logo. According to a Netflix press release from October 2010, the PS3 is the first device that an decode 5.1, and others will be added later:

I suspect "added later" means we need an Apple TV update. Maybe with the iOS 4.3 update?

Everyone who is getting 5.1 audio with Netflix on the ATV2 is using the 4.3 beta software so yes 5.1 audio for Netflix will most likely be coming to the ATV2 for everyone Friday when 4.3 is fully released.
