Seeing as the 10.5 supports it, I doubt they would omit it on the successor

I was wondering the same thing. One hands on review mentions it can playback the content but not display it.

I really hope it hasn’t been removed but I also noticed all mention of HDR has been removed from the 10.5 specs as well.

Found this on the tech specs, looks like it isn't supported.

  • Video formats supported: H.264 video up to 4K, 30 frames per second, High Profile level 4.2 with AAC‑LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio or Dolby Audio up to 1008 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo or multichannel audio, in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG‑4 video up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC‑LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio or Dolby Audio up to 1008 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo or multichannel audio, in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; Motion JPEG (M‑JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format

The tech specs for 10.5” say that too. So either they removed it or it was never mentioned for the 10.5” either.

Just had an online chat with someone at the apple store and they confirmed both formats are supported.

I was ready to buy one.. and then I saw exactly this.

Just for reference: To be found under Section TV and Video

Old iPad Pro:https://www.apple.com/lae/ipad-pro/specs/ (Supports Dolby Vision and HDR10 content)
New iPad Pro:https://www.apple.com/ipad-pro/specs/

I shall wait for confirmation by someone who gets the new ipad pro. Not that i dont trust Online Support, its just that most of the time they are more guessing than knowing.

Its the same thing with RAM. Only the 1TB Versions has 6GB, all others 4GB.

Interestingly if I go to the same tech spec page for the 10.5 on the UK store the line about HDR and Dolby Vision has been removed.
