Walked into ATT store, preorderd 4 of them, hit my credit card for $800 even... no tax, no activation fees, etc... and I am guaranteed to have them on the 24th... walk into store and pick them up.

Go ATT.....

Boo APPLE....

no taxes? lol

Yeah, flat $800 charged to the card for the 4 16GB iphones.... I thought it odd as well but didn't say anything obviously... if they add tax on later, no biggie.

I already have my activations fee's waived, I did that yesterday, I just called em up and told em I wanted to waive them and I wouldn't renew otherwise, they did it in 30 seconds flat.

Go ATT? Really? ATT is the reason people can't do **** on Apple's site. And thanks for sharing your story and creating a new thread!

I already pre-ordered at the ATT store but they didn't waive the $18 fee. I'm gonna call and dispute it.

But i was told if the i4 is to be delivered to the ATT store you can pick it up on the 25th NOT the 24th.

Then I heard from someone else you could pick it up on the 24th.

I just have it being shipped to the house.

You are more than welcome! Thank you for participating as well!

Yeah go ATT... where are you gathering your facts from? Just guesstimates or did you talk to somebody from corporate that gave you proof it was ATT's fault?

All I know, I walked right in, ordered 4, walked out, no issues.

Spent 5 hours this morning trying with apple, no luck at all.

I repeat, go ATT.

I was assured by the store manager I could come in on the 24th and 4 phones would have my name on them... so we will see next week I suppose if he was telling the truth or not.

As far as the activation fees... they are SUPER easy to get waived, any customer service agent has authority to waive them... just ask nicely. I also was having issues with 3G service for 3 months in my house, I got credited $70/month for 3 months of service after about 10 min. on phone... my current bill for 5 phones is only $267/month after all my savings I have on my account.

So far I'm a fan of ATT, had great luck with their customer service... hope everybody has had the same experience

You can't go through Apple's site and pre-order because AT&T's servers crashed, thus making it impossible to check for eligibility and move forward in the process. Don't need to be a genius to figure that out...

So you are telling me, 100% for sure, that there is no way on earth it could be on apples end? It couldn't be an overload on their server trying to connect to att?

I'm not saying att isn't having issues, but I find it VERY hard to believe you can be so sure that it's JUST att having the issues, and not apple as well

Anyways, after my experience today, GO ATT!

Try the AT&T site and you can see it has lots of errors.....

Yeah I saw that lol

I dunno, ATT store worked fine.... guess it's being pretty random.

Kinda sad as an all around effort on both parts though, how do you just not expect a big overload on preorder day, and HOW in gods name do you NOT release the white version and NOT NOT NOT tell anybody about that until release day LMFAO!

Really disappointed in apples efforts this time around really. How does it just "slip" your mind to not mention that at WWDC.

I wanted a black anyways, but I feel the other people's pain.

I'm going black phone white bumper.

I tried at length this morning going through Apple website. Twice I got to start the process including the check for eligibility but when I submitted the credit card info it said the server dropped the connection. Finally I gave up and went to AT&T's site and had no problem pre-ordering a phone for me and a phone for my son. Most of my issues at the Apple site was trying to get to step one, way before AT&T is involved in the process.

Read further down there "pal"...

Apple servers ALSO are/did crash.... so like I said, both parties.

Go BEST BUY though haha... they are used to all this stuff... would figure the other stores would be as well.

That has been resolved for a while now. You would ignore 95% of the article to try to make a point. Get a clue. AT & T reps are in stores hand writing orders.

Seems part of the trouble is on apple's end because at least a half-dozen times it's timed out or I've gotten a connection reset error while Safari was trying to access buyiphone.apple.com after it had checked my AT&T account info.

I can't get past the AT & T verification. I am far from the only one.

Boo APPLE....

All black ones or any white?

You sir, are completely ignorant if you feel it's 100% att and nothing apple.

I said it was both. I never said it was just apple. Yeah plenty are having issues like you on the att verification, plenty can't get past apples part.

/the end

All black ones or any white?

Only black ones of course. No date on white ones, but if I'd take a guess, I'd say probably August... just a 100% random guess though.... that to me equals later this summer.
