I'm just done with it. And I'm disappointed about it.

I wanted to like this app. The price was right, the channel line-up was pretty good, although I did want more VOD choices. However the app just stopped working when the free trial expired and, so far, nothing I have tried has gotten it to work again. The problem, as reported to Sling support, is that whenever I select something to watch the app crashes back to the Home screen.

The final straw was the inadequate "support." I sent 6 emails over 3 days before I got one response. Then all I've gotten in the past 3 days is "please enable debug mode; we're working on it."

Now I've got to try to get a refund. Very, very disappointing.

SlingTV isn't compatible with the beta version of tvOS. The issue you describe is what happens when used with tvOS beta.

Well... I will be...

I had no idea my brother had his Apple TV enrolled in the developer program. I checked and sure enough, it's on tvOS 10.1.

Now don't I feel silly.

No need to feel silly, it's the 2nd tvOS beta release -- Sling should have fixed it with the first beta, and given past Sling issues -- Apple doesn't seem to be a SlingTV priority; they always update Apple stuff after the rest -- Roku updates come much earlier.

Consider a 2016 Roku Streaming Stick to supplement your ATV4 if you'd like to stick with Sling -- stream performance is much better with SlingTV than the ATV4, and, it has an Amazon Video app. If you travel at all, it's great for that -- but wait for holiday sale pricing, it'll be around $40-US (or less). You could also hold out for AT&T's new DirecTV streaming service and see how their platform support goes, could be ATV4 has priority. IMHO, there isn't a single streaming platform that serves all, it's a good idea to have a couple to choose from on pizza-night. ;)

If you use wireless audio, Roku excels. CNN via my single ear Plantronics headset without re-pairing or switching connectivity alone is worth the Stick purchase price

Personally, while I'm glad I have both -- I purchased the Roku Stick thinking I'd use it far less than my ATV4, but it turns out to be the opposite. The UI is clunkier, but the Plex app is better, it has a far more ergonomic remote... and... 'it just works'...

I always DM @slinganswers for support and they generally respond to help within 30 minutes. They have been outstanding in that regard. I have not tried contacting them in any other way so I can't speak to those

I'm having the exact same issues with a full subscription. I keep contacting support and it doesn't matter. I factory reset, reinstalled, and 15-20 seconds after launching the Skiing app it closes and goes back to the apple menu.

It worked great until about early october
