Don't buy 3G Unrestrictor, get My3G if you need it

The dev of 3GU is terrible with updates and never answers emails and doesn't work with a lot of programs. My3G, on the other hand, is created by the people who brought you MyWi.

If you have MyWi, you don't even need My3G, just enable the WiFi tethering and your iPhone will think it's on WiFi anyway.

I only had one problem with 3GUnrestrictor, and that was fixed within a week. No need for all the hate. I havent heard of too many complaints about 3GUnrestrictor.

I've never had it not work 3GU is great. Everyone go pick it up today.
 
Using My3G here and works great. Never knew about the MyWi option, but sounds great. Only thought that occurs to me is that this would require my remembering to turn MyWi on which isn't a good option for my wife who uses My3G as well, she is forgetful that way. :D
 
TS, I'm gonna disagree w/ you here because I really prefer 3G Unrestrictor...
 
Back when I was on 4.0.1 3Gunrestrictor messed up my facetime and I couldnt ever get it to activate without a restore and setup as new. I restored twice and as soon as I installed 3Gunrestrictor it would do the same.
I havent tried it since I went up to 4.1 but I switched to Facebreak and not a single problem with facetime over wifi or 3G.

I had this same exact experience, however, I had the same problem when I tried Facebreak. And when researching the problem online, I saw multiple people with the same problem that claimed to have My3G so I'm not sure if this was a specific app causing this problem.

Using FaceTime is one exception (assuming you're right about that).
 
In the past, I had issues with Facetime using 3GU and My3g. I ended up using Facebreak, but kept 3GU active for everything else. 3GU has worked great for me for everything else. I didn't like the animated My3G graphic that would appear on the screen each time I loaded an app that was designated to use My3G, so after trying My3G, I just switched back to 3GU. And on another note, the 3GU developer did mention on Twitter about being out of the country or unavailable for a while, so perhaps that's why the OP never received a recent timely response.

Never had any problems with 3G Unrestrictor. What do you mean by 'doesn't always work with youtube'? FaceTime doesn't seem to work for me, but I bought FaceBreak and that works fine.

What the OP is trying to say about using MyWi- make a wifi hotspot, then connect to it. Not sure whether or not that works, but I read that you could do that to make the iPhone think it's on WiFi (without buying another app) on another forum.
