I remember it. The Software Publisher's Assocation (SPA) put a lot of effort into that promotional campaign.

I'm a programmer myself, so I've always reminded people not to steal software. Years ago, I helped distribute some newsletters with the SPA's "Don't Copy That Floppy" message, in our neighborhood. It was for parents as much as for students, because even the parents didn't always know that stealing software hurts somebody's business.

Obviously, my effort paid off, since there are still people who write software for a living here in the 21st century. And they owe ME all the credit!

Did you notice that PIXAR was one of the video sponsors?

Yeah, I did notice that. I didn't even know Pixar was around back then.

I can't beleive the person who made this thought it would actually be effective.

I saw "Balls of Fury" earlier this evening.

I must say "Don't Copy that Floppy" is a much better movie, and I am not even kidding.

Hilarious though, I love it.

Where would this video be shown honestly, it's almost 10 minutes long! What, did they call all the kids down for an educational assembly at high schools and preach not to "copy that floppy?!?!"

I've seen this before on the tubes, but not in a while, so thanks for a trip down memory lane :)

Subtitled version for deaf guys like me here:

With extra comments like [retarded dancing] and [more retarded dancing] :D

Now I finally understand what these lame films were about - I had to sit through stuff like this when I was a kid, with no subtitles and no idea what they were about.

PS I think the first 3 minutes is the short version, and the rest is the extended material. Love the glasses on the geeks

Whoever recorded the Tetris clip totally sucks.

Did I mention, that video is really f***ed up.

BTW: Was the game those kids were playing called Button-Mashtastic" or something? :)
