Ok, clearly you take things way too far and seriously and personally.
All I was saying was that you should run searches before starting threads called "Don't Jailbreak!!!!!!!! IT DOESNT WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

therefore I called you lazy. jeez man, calm down, its not like I called u smth that bad. and its not an insult. its evidenced by your actions.

have u even TRIED running a search yet?
go run a search on 1.1.3 customize.

Customize 1.1.3 has been out.
its been working.
there's been so many posts about it already.

Congratuations on JB ur iPod. Now I'm sure you can see why the title this thread is false, as you are clearly enjoying JB, which is evidenced by your multiple joyful threads about how great it is.

Now I think u need to start using that SEARCH BAR in the upper right hand corner.

you also need to calm down lol, i think this thread is done, he clearly has changed his mind, and it is very miss leading the title

ok sorry bnizzy and everyone else. didnt mean to take it offensively or to personally insult you in any way. I actually didnt see the search bar in the top right corner. never noticed it. Can you tell me how to attach my Springboard Pics to the Springboard thread?, as I really can't figure it out.

Thanks.

And your right. I do take things too personally. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

All though everyone has been saying 'My JB works perfectly, its like a brand new one'.....Dont Do It.

When you gather up the courage to push that button "Jailbreak" on whatever system...you pray to iPod God that it will work....when it does (Mine didnt, using iJailbreak 0.5.4 it went into DFU Mode straight after it said it was done?? wtf...i restored but anyway...) you think..kool...lets install things, you do it...enjoy it and when something goes wrong...you regret it or demand help like 'HELP! I bricked Mine...stuck in DFU....Apps Gone etc.." Or when something goes wrong like 'OMG I can't restore....'...hello its your fault.

I was a jailbreaking enthusiast...I like Jailbreaking, but couldnt do it on 1.1.1 because It was like a day old when i heard about JB'ing or Unshackling. So i held off till 1.1.4 as I had 1.1.3 before that... and all programs required 'A Jailbroken 1.1.2 or 1.1.1' And then the DFU and Not Restore thing happened (with iJailbreak 0.5.4)...Mind you without trying again...just to connect it to iTunes and put music on it. Jailbreaking seriously screws around with the device. Allthough it seems cool to do (JB'ing)...Apple has placed these restrictions for a reason. Until someone comes up with a Fool and Appleproof method that does not have any faults or problems that could occur, then I will jailbreak. Or if anyone on this forum is nice enough to post clear instructions on how to use iJailbreak on a Mac and what will happen after it supposedly completes (Is the DFU image supposed to appear??????? Do I wait for a certain amount of time??????) then I may join you in this burgeoning community of hackers.

Thankyou and please reply.

are you kidding?! go to http://www.youtube.com/ipodtouchmaster

! you will get the hacking right!

I laugh at this title. For literally more than half of a year people have been Jailbreaking. Then, all of a sudden, someone comes out and says it just doesn't work? Yup, either I believe you or that Steve Jobs owns Microsoft.:apple:

I am with you on this its so laughable when someone posts somehting like this because they probably didn't follow some instruction properly or even using the correct jailbreak. I swear by jailbreakme.com for 1.1.1, Conceited Software's 1.1.2 jailbreak and ipodtouchmaster to jailbreak to 1.1.3/4 these are tried and tested methods for me and worked everytime no problems at all

Wow. First of all, thanks for the misleading title. Second of all just because you couldn't jailbreak your iPod doesn't mean you have to come onto this forum and rant about how it won't work for ANYBODY just because you can't do it.
If you took some time and searched the forums, you would find that there are multiple instruction threads on this forum. If you could not find a thread on this forum, there are hundreds of forums surrounding the iPod Jailbreaking subject.
By the way: Dont Jailbreak!!!!!! IT DOESNT WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, sorry I did Jailbreak, and yes, it did work.

P.S Typing.....like this(like this)....doesn't..help anyone under....stand...yourproblem.

On the contrary, you can 'brick' any electronics. 'Bricking' means making something completely inoperable, and therefore as useful as a brick.

With regards to Jailbreaking not working, I've had a Jailbroken and unlocked iPhone for months, and I've updated mine whenever a new Jailbreak has been available. The only problem I ever had was caused by eBay crashing Safari.

Jailbreaking has NEVER 'bricked' an iPTouch. I was simply countering the drama of the OP with reason.

Thanks for the compliment......buddy......

Well, I've tried everything I could to jailbreak my iPod, from downloading QuickPwn_2.2.dmg from several different sites using both Safari as well as other means, to downloading PwnageTool_2.2.dmg as well. Neither program does the trick. So, for me, there is no jailbreaking an iPod with 2.2 on it using a mac.

This is from MARCH. Downgrade iTunes. Downgrade your baseband. Try an older firmware first...

So I'm curious, is it possible to perform a jailbreak directly to a non-jailbroken iPod with 2.2, or do you have to start with jailbreaking an older version of the firmware?

I have tried many different jailbreaking programs the only one that works is Quickpwn...try it.....

i jailbroke it and i had 2.0 or 2.2 ... I think it was 2.2 just use quickpwn it works

I like to void the warranty and I am fully cognizant of the responsibility and potential consequences I bear as a result.

ha!

it takes a serious amount of ego to assume one's problems translate to everyone else, especially given how much information exists out there on successful jailbreaking.

Whatever... I'm a mechanical engineer so I think I've got the technical background to follow a few simple instructions. Call it ego, but in my mind it just can't be done.

Oh, and if it's so popular then explain why this forum is so quiet

don't make misleading posts just because your frustrated. jailbreaking is an amazing thing giving alot of us freedom to customize another thing to customize and make it our own. i greatly enjoy making and putting together themes. in all of 3 weeks, i've made/put together completely custom themes for my ipod, my sisters ipod, and my best friends ipod, and enjoyed every second of it. currently helping my brother get his like he wants it.

jailbreaking is completely safe and works very consistently if done right. i've jailbroken ipods 5 times and never had a problem with any of them.(did the first one on 1.1.4 and then on 2.2 aswell).

just because your mad doesnt mean you can put more fear in the brain of those who are considering jailbreaking.

edit:

now there is so much wrong with that last sentence. jailbreaking is very very very popular and well talked about. this forum isn't very dead, plus the fact that theres many forums that discuss this so... if all of those forums were combined into one... the amount of posts and threads would be outrageous and uncontrollable, which is why there are many independent forums. jailbreaking is contagious. people see what you can do with an ipod that they never knew could be done and they jump on the bandwagon.
