My wife works in the industry and told me from reliable source that people will be pleasantly surprised on the 24th. She stated--- extending shipping times are not a true reflection. She stated many with May shipping dates will be arriving on April 24th.

Well that's cleared that up then, awesome.

Really? And what's your "reliable source" or can't you tell us as it's top secret?!?!

I'm trying to forget that i ordered one. That way sometime between now and June I will get a nice package delivered and I will be happy.

:)

ok...

There was a production issue due to the nature of the glass, hence why the low inventory at launch

I have a June shipping date and am expecting a mid-late May arrival.

Doubt I'll get it before then

Giving a range is a standard business practice it's a cover your ass move.

If they tell us 4/24 and it doesn't come then we're all on the phone with apple trying to get a discount or something free

Thats exactly what she said when I asked her about the delivery---She stated they will often under promise so it looks like they are over delivering. She stated a common practice.

Works for a Major Marketing firm in the tech industry---They actually monitor about anything you can think off---from internals of a computer to where computer paper actually located on the shelf at Best Buy and how effects retail sales.

Can you ask her if mine is on the delivery truck today , I have a good feeling

It's all about managing expectation....

If you say something will take 3 weeks to deliver and you deliver in 2, you are awesome.

If you say something will take 1 week to deliver and you deliver in 2, you are an as*hole.

I thought this was kind of a known thing. Make the estimated delivery date as late as possible so when it ships/arrives early customers are happy because they got their item sooner than expected. Rather than having a set date and having customers be in a bad mood, even if it is only a day late.

Yes. I can read. OK then. Who's his wife's "reliable source" or is that a top secret??

Sorry, my incredulity was aimed towards OP, not at you or your reading comprehension. This is obviously commonly-known information, not some secret insider information that is shocking to us. ;)
