My wife works in the industry and told me from reliable source that people will be pleasantly surprised on the 24th. She stated--- extending shipping times are not a true reflection. She stated many with May shipping dates will be arriving on April 24th.

I also remember reading that they are trying to under-promise, over-deliver. One way to find out.

as much as I'd like mine early (I'm away on holiday from 1st to 12 May)...I'm not sweating any dates....it will arrive when it arrives.

Thats exactly what she said when I asked her about the delivery---She stated they will often under promise so it looks like they are over delivering. She stated a common practice.

It's all about managing expectation....
If you say something will take 3 weeks to deliver and you deliver in 2, you are awesome.
If you say something will take 1 week to deliver and you deliver in 2, you are an as*hole.

I thought this was kind of a known thing. Make the estimated delivery date as late as possible so when it ships/arrives early customers are happy because they got their item sooner than expected. Rather than having a set date and having customers be in a bad mood, even if it is only a day late.
I hope it comes the 24th since I am having it delivered to my work. 25th is a Saturday and the office will be closed. First world problems.
Sorry, my incredulity was aimed towards OP, not at you or your reading comprehension. This is obviously commonly-known information, not some secret insider information that is shocking to us.
