I had an S0, and all the stock apps were pretty quick and acceptable. Third party apps were awful. If it did resting HR, I would have kept it still.

All true. I'm still debating on taking it to BB, in favor of giving it to my daughter (7). The problem is, 42mm is pretty giant on her tiny wrist! She still needs practice reading an analog clock face, and she loves gadgets.

The company they use, it has horrible reviews. People have even gone so far as to call them a scam.

I've used trade in but only at the store. I refuse to send them anything!

This was my exact experience. My S2 powers on fine, is in excellent condition. I made sure it was fully charged before sending it in, turned it off, and shipped it off. That was almost a month ago, and I just received an email saying the watch does not power on.

I never had an issue with Brightstar before, but won't be trading in my Apple devices ever again.

Well are they shipping it back to you free of charge?

Seems the consensus that Bright star doesn’t have the most positive reviews or experiences with others sending in their products for trade-in. For me, I would rather just sell to someone directly locally with cash in hand and I can avoid issues with companies that are highly questionable with their services.

same exact experience. i rejected the offer and the watch is supposed to be sent back to me in 3-5 days.... but i've heard people have waited a month. *sigh* I may try to bring the watch into the apple store directly to trade in - parents needs a new phone and will probably get them an iphone se at that time.

If it was me, I would personally sell it yourself. As you likely would accrue more money that way versus trading it in. Also, there is not much Apple can assist you with, as Bright star is a third-party company that has their own rules & regulations that Apple can’t change/alter with the trade-in program.

I did the same thing you did and they said my Apple Watch also doesn’t power on. It’s because the techs at their company don’t know how to turn on an Apple Watch when its powered off so they think its broken. Just hold down the big side button fools.

ELECTRONICS, My motto, when a product becomes obsolete, donate it, take a tax right off.

If you have a business that actually requires the usage of an Apple Watch for ‘Business Critical’, then yes, you can write the Apple watch off. Plenty of others have done so in these threads.

As much as I love Apple, this is my first time using their trade in program. My S0 is 3 years old, and I figured it was time to upgrade to the S3. Once everything was set up on my S3, I decided to initiate a trade in on Apple’s trade in program and was quoted $50 on an AS gift card. OK, fine, since it’s that old, I was happy to get anything for it. At the very least, I could’ve used it on a new sport band.

Once I mailed my S0 off, I get an email a few days later saying that my quote was changed to $0 because my watch wouldn’t power on. I knew that wasn’t right because I was just playing with it making sure find my watch was off. I called the company, couldn’t do anything for me... said that the techs are trained and that’s what their final decision was. Apple couldn’t do anything for me because Brightstar is a third party company and they don’t have any say on their decisions.

Fast forward, I get my watch back today and lo and behold. It powers on just fine.

Needless to say, I’m pretty annoyed right now. It seems like my only other option is to sell it on eBay or craigslist, because it doesn’t seem like the reputable trade in sites are still accepting them, which is why I did this in the first place. BuyBackWorld seems to be my only other option, but they want the band that came with it and the charger.. no thanks.
