Never bashed AT&T, moved from Verizon after 8 unhappy years of customer service and getting ripped off.

I could not be more happier on AT&T with an iPhone than I am now. I started back with AT&T after they had merged with cingular bc I was with them before Verizon, and I do not see myself switching ever again, everything works very well, and they have treated me very well with discounts, $ off of my bill, etc and their CS resolves all my issues within 15 minutes.

Can't ask for better service than that, but hey that is my experience only not saying everyone has to go to AT&T.

Nobody should apologize to a carrier for anything. All of them charge way too much for what they provide. Also there are still plenty of people having issues with ATT. All this shows that all big three carriers are really not that great.

BS.

I think I and my company get a great value for what we pay AT&T each month. We have tried some of the other carriers and none beats them for service and coverage.

Some just feel they are "entitled" to more and more.:p

Nope. My webpages load faster on Verizon than AT&Ts fictional faster network. Its not faster at anything but a speedtest.

AT&T service WAS terrible. I complained a lot.

It got better. I don't complain so much.

What should I apologize for?

I don't complain for 2 resons
1- if i can not change them so what the point?
2- last time I ask somthing I was yelled by the rep. I told him to find anther job so he don't get hart attack

so for bad service and paying for it. I shuld be getting the apology

I've always thought the whole "AT&T sucks" thing was overblown. People get very weird about defending/attacking cell phone providers. It's similar to a debate about religion or politics. Maybe it has to do with people being under contract. People defend their network vehemently when their contract is new, and then when they are a few months away they're like "******* AT&T! Can't wait until my contract expires in two months and I can go to a real service provider like Verizon." At the end of the day we're all going to get ********* by our service provider in one way or another.

When the iPhone was AT&T-only, everyone (including me) complained about AT&T's network - dropped calls, weak signal, etc etc. Now, iPhone is available on 3 major carriers and Sprint users are reporting unhappiness with Sprint, while Verizon users are not that much better except for not many dropped calls. With the 4S on AT&T's network, I'm getting good reception, no dropped calls, decent data speeds. So, the issue could have been with the phone itself, that's been fixed now? Or do AT&T customers using other phone models also complain about dropped calls?

Whos complaining about Verizon? I get perfect call quality, no dropped calls, and I get over 1 mbs download steady and sometimes 2 mbs download, I havent seen anyone complain about Verizon, but thats just me.

so wait, now that you are finally getting what you have been paying for all along, you should appologize?

just because you're better than someone else doesn't mean you're great.

Exactly!!! I still get dropped calls daily, I know the 280 corridor from San Francisco to San Jose is not great but really come on???

My 4S so far is as bad!

Why apologize to AT&T? They still suck.

They charge almost Verizon Prices with Tmobile/Sprint call quality. IDK about you guys but im not a 14 year old kid who just plays games and texts all day. Most working people actually need their calls

With Verizon (besides the costs, which is very close to AT&T) i get better call quality than my AT&T work line at all times, i never ever drop a call, never had a call go straight to voicemail like AT&T, and websites load just as fast as an iphone on AT&T. Oh and Apple/AT&T's HSPA+ 4G stuff is just garbage. Here in NY you will get almost identical to Verizon's speeds. At most 1 mbps higher.

It's "me and my company". And what great value? they still charge almost the same as Verizon for worse service. Yes their customer service is really good but thats because they jsut give out "credits" like it's water just to keep people happy with their ****** service.

Exactly.

I've always thought the whole "AT&T sucks" thing was overblown.

Where do you live? It's depends in the region you live in. In the NE and SW AT&T sucks balls. I'm sorry but it can't be all overblown. In NY AT&T sucks.

People in the middle of no where don't understand how bad AT&T is in major cities!

As someone who came from Verizon to At&T I can say I'm happier with At&T than Verizon.

Why b.c they give you a credit every now and than? Their customer service is def. better. But their call quality sucks. But hey it's not like people ever use the iPhone as a PHONE ever.

Is it me? or do i not care about the $$$... I care that the $$ i am paying gives me the service im paying for.

I've never complained about AT&T. From day one, I've been very happy with them and my service and coverage are great. I find it hilarious that the whiners are whining just as much with their Sprint/Verizon services. Some people just like to complain no matter what.

I live in Chicago and I get better voice quality with AT&T than Verizon.

When I was with Verizon I couldn't make a phone call where I worked at unless I was outside of the building, when I was at school I could only talk on one side of the building, and I could never make phone calls at the Lower Level of the building having Verizon. With At&T I never have this problem at all and when it comes to Customer Service I never experienced nothing bad with either companies.

Wow way to judge somebody because they think something differently. Just because At&T isn't the right cell phone provider for you does not mean it's the same for me.

Couldn't have said it better myself
I agree

That's ping talking. And I think the new baseband in the 4S is much better about that. My 4 would usually get 200ms while my 4S is consistently under 100

If you guys look at the just released AT&T third quarter financials, they spent more money than any other carriers on infrastructure improvement and LTE deployment. Don't say they didn't try.

I don't think you guys would be happy until you get your cell service for free. Building a network on area as large as the US cost money. We are not in some small country which a couple dozen cell towers will cover everybody.

So you think charging $20 for a text messaging plan with no other option is "good value"? Forcing customers to buy two data plans to use the hotspot feature on a phone is "good value"?

If a person wants to use all of the features of their iPhone and has no discounts, it is at least $80 to $100 a month. I am sorry but that is crazy. But since all of the big carriers are pretty much the same, it is the price you have to pay. I am not asking for anything for nothing, but the costs for wireless service in this country are excessive.

You yankees simply have ****** network... Here in real world, Europe, everything just works seamlessly

Yeah, we'll, at least we drive on the right side of the road... :p

I love it. Subtle but yet direct. :apple:

The network still has issues in the Chicagoland area. Someone or something hates AT&T in my employer building I swear because the service is awful.

same here...at home and at work in Chicago. Sadly, I've had to remain a Sprint customer just so I can receive calls.

OMG , you guys. -5 because angulsslo speaks the truth??

As a yank, I have to admit he's correct; our networks are closer in quality to Bangladesh. I've never had any problems anywhere in Europe.

Sorry.... :D

Only in the UK do they drive on the other side of the road! Everywhere else in Europe, it's the same as here. WOW...just, wow.

I will never apologize to AT&T for anything; my fault or not

Agreed! :D

I think of it more as they decided to shape up after all the complaints they got. Nothing motivates like bad PR :p

I just realized the service in my area improved a week before i upgraded to a 4S from 3GS...went from 1 bar in my apt to full bars...apparently they fixed issues plaguing my local area.

Now on a 4S, I am still getting full bars, but also getting HSPA+ speeds, so I am guessing they fixed the tower next to me, or upgraded it to HSPA+ speeds just in time for release...either way, I am a happy camper for once...also, not one dropped call locally since these changes..

Prior, I got a dropped call in my apt 1-2 times a day.

Disagree. The carriers, in reality, probably aren't charging enough. My cell phone bill comes to around $100/month but I use it constantly. Couldn't live without it. I'd pay $120, even $150 a month for it and all its features.

Perhaps in the (not too distant?) future when I can send text messages and make calls over Skype, Google Voice, etc. without using a network, then of course, they'd be worthless to me.

But that day hasn't come yet.

It's kind of like gasoline. People want to bitch about the price of it, but when push comes to shove, if it was $5/gallon, you'd still use it. Maybe try to make cutbacks, but you'd still use it.

I always thought it was more the phone and issues it brought than the network itself. I never thought the AT&T network was as terrible as people made it out to be, but I had limited experience with other networks for comparison. That being said, I always felt that iPhone users used tons more data than other smartphone users in 2007-2009, and since it was exclusive to AT&T, I felt that AT&T was just being hammered in the data area and couldn't quite keep up.

Now that other smart phones are (almost) as easy to use and operate as iPhones and other networks have the iPhone, some of that bandwidth burden is shifting to other carriers so AT&T doesn't seem so bad.

Just my .02

I think it's a combination of better hardware and carrier improvements.

Check the link in my sig, people are saying that going to the 4s they are getting a lot better service now on AT&T than before the 4s
