This is what Nvidia states, "Certain notebook configurations with GPUs and MCPs manufactured with a certain die/packaging material set are failing in the field at higher than normal rates."

And here is what dell m1330 and m1530 users have come up with to the fix of their 4-5 times replacing motherboard issues.

There’s details of a modification called the Copper Mod posted on several forums.

Put 2 and 2 together and you get copper mod fix for the weak materials used on the die of the 8400M GS cards.

Because, quoting from the other forum:
It appears they're just trying to set our minds at ease.

Baahh... Nothing lasts forever those days,
seems we've moved into a disposable era, somehow...

Well, my MacBook Pro 3,1 is still working in perfect condition,
even after eighteen months of non-stop abuse!
I think it'll be fine for another eighteen months at least there's AppleCare for that period. ;)

For some reason I saw your hello kitty icon and read the word BAHH and just had a little chuckle hehe.

Yea I'm not worried either, I'll be adding apple care to my 17" mbp and I feel at ease already with it.
