Remember not to wrap the string from the apple or ATT bag around your finger when you leave the store on the 24th.

You don't want to be like that iPad guy....

I never heard about this but I assume someone tried to snatch the bag with the iPad in it and then.......?

Edit: I guess I answered my own question lol. That sucks.

Most of us, here in TEXAS, carry a gun. And its legal. I feel sorry for the poor fool, that would do something like that to me!

How to Leave the Store Safely After Purchasing Your iPhone 4.

  1. Bring a Ziploc bag.
  2. After purchase, immediately put your iPhone 4 in the Ziploc bag and put it in your pocket.
  3. Put the iPhone 4 packaging inside your iPhone 4 bag.
  4. Do not wrap the the string of the bag around your finger!
  5. Leisurely leave the store with the iPhone 4 bag held loosely in one hand.
  6. Walk to your care, lock the door, and drive away.
That's my plan, anyway!!!

Dagggg

That's messed up. I am from NY so I know there will probably be some kids out there trying to play but I stay strapped. Its cool;)

That seems kinda complicated. To many steps. My plan is just carry my glock and shoot a low life scumbag if need be. KISS.

You should check with an attorney or your local law enforcement before you use deadly force. Should you escape a criminal charge, those civil lawsuits can be pesky. I recommend less-than-lethal. Watching him do the funky chicken on the ground may be worth the attorney fees/damages.

Yeah when I picked up an iPad for a friend, I had to make a conscious effort on how I held the bag.

Yeah ccw is legal here in Co. too.... I have mine but most people don't. It might be tough to legally put one in this guy because he was retreating and not threatening life. Even with the bodily harm, it might be a tough road to go down.

Protecting your life and property, is a right in texas. I do agree, that civil lawsuits, could cause major problems. I have read that before, and I have been to all the handgun classes. I know, that, you just dont shoot anyone, for the sake of doing it! I would never be able to live with myself if i did. But If some one takes my finger off.... It better be my trigger finger!

How to Leave the Store Safely After Purchasing Your iPhone 4.

<snip>

My local Best Buy had no crowds and left the iPads in a plain brown shipping box. I walked around with it, went to IKEA, and didn't feel at risk. Later that day I took a bus to the Apple Store and bought a case and dock. I felt very at risk on the ride home in my big "rob me" bag on the iPad launch day.

Just take a generic bag to put the booty into, or put it in something nobody would want like a hollowed out Mariah Carey box set.

That's awesome! They should do that for all iPhones! Brown Bags for everyone!

I've sold quite a few iPads at all hours, including in the middle of the night. I wrapped the string around my hand a few times when I wasn't wearing the bag as a backpack. Probably not a good idea, but better than wrapping it around a finger.

I bought my iPad at the apple store in ceasars palace in Vegas. It was nice knowing that my route back to the hotel room which traversed 3 casinos was covered by hundreds if not thousands of cameras and security ;)
