God no, I cannot stand it.

If you have to install OS X as often as I did, you'd hate it too.

You get strange looks from PC people when it plays. It all adds to the froo-frooness of the Mac in their eyes.

No, I love the music. I played that video about 40 times. Still on sick of it.:)

Not a huge fan of it here either. Not that I get bored with it or don't like it but it's a waste of time IMO. If I have have reinstall I hate waiting for that video to get done playing so I can get on with the important stuff.

I just love how it looks. Sure it's a waste of time but what isn't?

This is the joy of installing OS X. I think it is really cool looking. I reinstall OS X because of it.

Gahville. It's a nice place to visit, but you wouldn't want to live there.
This stupid music is always playing.

Dooobee do-woo dobeedo-woowoooo..

You know, if you reinstall OS X more than 20 times, your Mac will blow up, right?

LOL; you should just record it and play it each time you wanna watch it. No need to reinstall OSX each time you wanna watch the freakin video :D
The saddest part is that he HAS A LINK TO THE DAMN VIDEO yet he likes to reinstall OS X so he can see the video... Hrmmm....

I'm impartial. I think it's a complete waste of time though. I don't see why it's there. Sure, it's cool, but I could do without too

Nah, I mean, if its the first time you install OS X/ get a new computer, its cool, you get little goosebumps, LOL.

But after watching it a couple of times, it gets boring.

SOLUTION: As soon as you reinstall/power up for the first time, you should have two options:

1) Play the welcome video ( you'll get welcomed in languages you didnt even know existed! )

2) Skip the video ( Steve will get sad :( )

What do you think?

Just for all of you who, like me, would like to be able to view that oh-so-intriguing introduction video that plays when you first set up Tiger, here is the pathname:

/System/Library/CoreServices/Setup\ Assistant.app/Content/Resources/TransitionSection.bundle/Contents/Resources/

It's actually in two separate files: intro.mov and intro-sound.mp3

The reason for this was so Apple could just run a script to play them both simultaneously, so that after the video finished, the music could continue playing in the background while you set up your system.

Anyway, it took me so long to find that on my own that I thought I should share.
I used to know the path name by heart.
