If you hit CMD+Q during the movie it will skip past it, you can also hit CMD-Q to skip past the registration screen.

good tip - so what about the password screen?

arr sorry i thought you ment when you quit the movie it would drop straight onto the desktop and bypass the setup user and password

Nope you can get past the movie and the registration screen (that gets sent to Apple) but you still have to set up the first user on the computer.

I don't like the video for Tiger. The music just doesn't do it for me. The Panther and Jaguar music was much more fitting. Even still, it is just a waste of time, but Windows has one too...

I like the video too, except when you go to bed re-installing OS X and the video wakes you up :p

How can Apple improve on this video for Leopard. Somehow, I have a feeling they will amaze us.

No, I don't know why. It's on the iPod too.

You get strange looks from PC people when it plays. It all adds to the froo-frooness of the Mac in their eyes.

I just restored an XP system and it has a movie intro too. Of course it has a lot less style than the Mac one.

I think the Mac one is pretty well done albeit quite useless given that I only see it about once a year if that.

I imagine it's quite annoying for people who do mass installations though.

I like the intro. I can see how it could become annoying after a while, but it makes me feel like im about to start something really big and great. Its a lot more welcoming than the windows introduction :p

Also this is the guy that designs them: http://www.brinda.com/
woah... that guy is just a little bit good... lol

Interesting, but not fantastic intro movie....although I have just wasted an hour of my life that I'm not going to get back, looking through some of the most inane but funny videos I've seen in a long while on You Tube  :D

That movie is great...but the Leopard one has so much more eye candy. I'm not sure if it has that awesome music though.
