Doom 3 Repeatedly Asks for Serial

It seems that Doom 3 immediately asks for my serial at a frequency of about 3 times a day now upon start up, and even a few times it has said my serial is in use!

Has my serial been stolen somehow? Did id Software screw up with my serial and give me a duplicate?

I would love for this screenshot to come true: "Activation will never ask you for your CD key."

I had doom 3 and never had this issue. Is it possible that one of your friends is using it?

I haven't given out my serial at all if that's what you're asking. I did consider that though.

One thing I forgot to mention is that it does NOT happen every time I start up Doom 3; it's random.

My best advice would be to call id and tell them what the problem is.
