Uber eats and Uber shows me the time of delivery in the delivery. But something did change in an update.

the great almost úseles distinctive feature of IPhone 14 is a waste of screen space. Terrible location, too intrusive. Use an Android and you will see the poor design of Apple.

This is one of the saddest trolls I’ve seen on this site. There’s lots of legitimate arguments one could make about iPhone vs Android but “use an Android and you will see the poor design of Apple” is actual nonsense.

So, now there are apps & companies dedicated to the dynamic island? Life finds a way, I suppose.

After using it for a month, I think it's actually really nice. There is really good functionality with it too and it handles multiple tasks (i.e. calls and maps) way nicer than the notch ever did.

I never knew how convenient FaceID was until I switched to a Pixel. Wow, I never realized how forward thinking FaceID ended up being.
Yeah I wish android devices had face biometrics that were supported the way fingerprint is. My phone has the side button fingerprint reader so I have to be holding my phone in the right hand to log onto my bank app. Annoying.

Now this is progress, I won't even have to unlock my phone to see my food delivery guy taking forever and taking multiple stops before finally dropping off my (now lukewarm at best) food :p

We used to have it for Uber and Uber Eats but it disappeared after an update. 🤷‍♂️
Tried Uber Eats today, and the Dynamic Island works just fine for me.

Maybe I'm not correct, but Uber sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. AFAIK, if you call "Uber Share", the island never works, but if you call Uber X (the most common one), it likely works.

Really? I think Dynamic Island is a great feature. Small bits of info at an easy spot to get hold of and takes very little screen real estate.
Agree. Although there are still MANY apps that don't support Dynamic Island yet, I've been using it more frequently than Touch Bar. On a daily basis, I use it with Uber, Lyft, Uber Eats, Timer, Voice Memo, Shazam, etc.

One of the reasons Touch Bar failed is because it was only supported on MacBook Pro, so there's less user base. Now that Dynamic Island is available on the non-Pro iPhone 15, I think in the future, there will be more users of this technology, and developers will be more motivated to develop Dynamic Island features for their apps. I just hope it will also be available on iPad.

Given that, I do hope that the "pill" will get smaller so we can have 3 or more Dynamic Island statuses showing on the top. One day, we will see the camera cutout is gone, and Dynamic Island will sort of behave as a status bar like Mac has.

Oh don't get me wrong, I'm one of the (few?) fans of the Touch Bar. It just seemed to be one of those things though that despite its potential, was never really adopted with enough momentum by third party software developers to make it a success.
