From a business standpoint its pretty sound. There are enough episodes of the original Dora for kids to discover again and again and not get bored. However, viewership drops somewhere around ages 5-6 and Nickelodeon feels the need to keep up with those kids that have moved out of the prime age bracket. Kids that feel too old for the original Dora may feel better with the updated Dora. Even if they only retain half of their original following they'll be making money.
I've never seen more than 2 seconds of it, while flipping through channels, and even that I'm ashamed to admit, but unless they change the entire concept of the show, I think viewership is still going to drop off.
I always thought the great thing about cartoons was that the characters didn't age. I can't imagine what The Simpsons would be like if Bart was in his 30s.
This really is quite silly.
There is no need to worry...
She is a cartoon character, who is like 9 or 10. This is how that age dresses, I have probably actually seen much worse (gah. 9 year olds shopping at hollister...).

I think Dee Snider put it best referring to his song under the blade:
"the only sadomasochism, bondage, and rape in this song is in the mind of Ms. Gore."
I think similar applies to Dora, I'm more concerned with the vulgarity of Spongebob they need to cover all those holes before I start having bad thoughts........OK too late LOL
