So I just got my iPhone 12 Pro Max and I cannot figure out how do you use only a password to make a purchase from the App Store. Right now I have to double click the side button which drives me crazy is there anyway to change this?

I haven't tried this, but I imagine if you go to Settings -> Face ID & Passcode and turn off the "iTunes & App Store" option under "Use Face ID For" it will ask you for your passcode when making purchases.

Give it a try.

I just tried this for the hell of it, and it asks for your iTunes password, not phone passcode.

Thanks for checking. This makes sense.

Admittedly the OP did not specify which password they want to enter so this could either be exactly what they're looking for or then the next best thing. The one very clearly implied goal was the wish to use the phone's virtual keyboard instead of a hardware button.
