Double Click to Minimize Windows Not Working - OS X 10.6

So I installed OS X 10.6 on my dads macbook, and now double clicking on the title of any window does not minimize it. Anyone else getting this issue? How do I go about fixing this?

System Preferences > Appearance

check "Double-click a window's title bar to minimize"

I think SL turns it off by default. I seem to remember someone else here having the same issue. Glad that was it!
