It seems to me that often I want to get out of an application to change a settings, like turning on WiFi, etc. I think it'd be useful if SETTINGS was one of the double-click shortcuts.

Or maybe having the ability to choose any app...

double clicking to settings would be useful but double clicking to any app would seem kind of hard unless the list was generated from the iphones list of installed programs, to kind of explain myself when an application is installed its got a name stored in its data IE "Palringo.exe" kind of deal, the phone would do a search of all the listed names under applications and refresh everytime you go to that menu.

would be a good idea being able to double click to your most used applications

This has been talked about in other threads, but yes it should be an option. Search MRoogle for the topic.

Maybe one day there will be the option to hold down the little wifi signal or the AT&T and settings for these will come up. The iPhone is smart enough to know if we are holding it down or not.
