I really like the fact that double-tapping the crown takes you immediately to the last used app. If you're bouncing back-and-forth from a map and a message while trying to locate a friend's house, for example. It really speeds up the process. A small detail that is extremely useful.

I had seen this vaguely mentioned somewhere, but have not seen a more thorough discussion. Apologies if this is duplicative.
 
This confused me slightly at first as the watch face is treated like any other app. I expected the watch to jump between my last 2 apps regardless of whether I was at the watch face screen. In fact what it does is jump between the last 2 apps used, watch face included.

Yeah. Timekeeping has been demoted to just another app on the watch as calling was on the iPhone.
