Hello guys.
I received my M1 MBA about one week ago. As a longtime Windows user I was wandering around here and there to get familiar with MacOS, and I saw this.

How is it possible to have that creation date on those folders? (BigSur hadn't even been released on that date). Could those of you who own an M1 MBA please check it out?
Thanks in advance :)

This is something  alway did, I have files dated from 2010 and 2019 that were made when the OSX was released.

I didn't know that. This shows my ignorance on the matter 😆.
Thank you!

Metadata is very easy to fake. Not saying Apple fake those, but those dates usually don’t mean much, such as for system files or program files.

Still, some fun trivia to know.

Interesting. It's probably a bug. I've been discussing about it on reddit and another guy from the US east coast has 3:00 am on his M1 MBP. I'm from Italy therefore my timezone is California +9, which is in accordance to the time displayed on mine.

It’s not a bug, a lot of system files just carry 00:00 on Jan 1st of the year of release as their date created.
