Hello, everyone. I'm going to be buying an HD camcorder soon (got my eye on the Canon HF100), and I'm wondering what the experience is of downconverting AVCHD 1080p video to 720p. I would guess that as long as the video is shot at 24 Hz it should be fine, yes?

My main goal is to take video of my travels, then eventually play it back on my :apple:TV and perhaps burn DVDs.

Regards,
Michael

As long as you are downgrading the video and not trying to up the resolution, you will be fine. Just make sure you keep the same aspect ratio.

I'm not sure I understand your comment about the aspect ratio. I'm making the assumption you mean 1.85:1, aka 16:9, rather than 1920x1080 to 1280x720. Is that correct?

Regards,
Michael
