So I have an AT&T iPhone 3GS and I decided to buy an unlock for $2, i've unlocked many other iphones through this method so i know how it works and everything..

So after receiving the unlock confirmation I restored with a non at&t sim and I was stuck at the activation screen! I only then remembered and realized that some iPhones 3GS that are on the iPad baseband (6.15.00) could or will have problems with the unlock and mine is!

So I'm wondering that if I manage to downgrade the baseband to an oficial one will then the unlock work?

That's great! Do you have any suggestions on how should I do that?
Create a custom firmware for iOS 4.1 and restore to that. Downloaded the latest version of redsn0w and also an official 4.1. Point redsn0w to the official 4.1 and do the downgrade. After that, restore to 6.1.3.

There are plenty of guides/tutorials also on how to do this on the web.

Thanks it worked. It was quite simple, I just had to use redsn0w, select the IPSW of my iPhone version (I had problem with that, instead of selecting the 6.1.3 ipsw which is my iPhone current ios, I had to select iOS 6.0 because redsn0w is compatible with only that or something like that...)
Then I just click on jailbreak and select downgrade from iPad baseband
