Hello. I own a fourth generation iPod and I'd like to stop feeling it's horrendously choppy.

Can I somehow downgrade it to the last version of its original iOS iteration? 4.3 I believe.

Thanks.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I can recall Cydia saying something about my SHSH being saved. I don't see it right now and I don't know how to access them.

Any ideas?

Do you have SHSH blobs saved?

He said iPod touch 4, which is possible to downgrade if he has the shsh blobs to the firmware he wishes to downgrade to.

If you don't know what those shsh thingies are you cannot downgrade.

Cydia is not 100% reliable. Did you back them up using TinyUmbrella?

Nope, I didn't. Anyways, I used iSHSH¡t and the oldest SHSH I have is 5.1.1. Saved it and sent it to my computer, so it seems to have worked well. Already downloaded Redsn0w and currently downloading 5.1.1 IPSW.

Process seems simple. I'll cross fingers!

Well... Restore to 5.1.1 done successfully. It feels like a new device. Can't believe it once was this smooth. Thanks Cydia for saving my SHSH blobs.

Gotta say the Redsn0w process was very fast and easy.

I will now jailbreak 5.1.1 in order to add shortcuts to Airplane mode and Bluetooth. Then install Spotify, add Music and be done with it.

Thanks you all!

Let us know how you make out.

cydia is the easiest for checking if you have complete SHSH blobs (it has been updated to properly check)

but glad you're on 5.1.1 now
