Come on, the "desperate, pathetic attempt to save face" was just a joke from HLdan :) . But calderone did have a point, HLdan, as he said "10.5.8+ with Wireless Mouse Software Update 1.0", and I thing 10.6.1 qualifies as "10.5.8+" and still requires the Wireless Mouse Software Update 1.0 :p

Edit: On further inspection, I'm not entirely sure if the Update is required for 10.6.1 but Apple says so in the manual.

I didn't find it funny at all.

As far as 10.6.1, I have no doubt the mouse will pair and probably work as a generic mouse, I don't know if you will be able to customize through System Preferences or if you will be able to use the multitouch functions. It is possible that you can but since mine hasn't been delivered and I haven't come across anyone who has paired it to another machine it is tough for me to say.

But, I never said it didn't work. Which is why I said what I did to HLdan. We were talking about requirements, not whether it may or may not work without the Mouse Software Update.

Anyhow, I would like to solve the poster's problem with installing Leopard. So I will wait to see if any of my suggestions helped in, and won't be addressing this again as I have said everything that needs to be said.

Grow up dude. You've taken this too far, you seriously need to calm down. Pathetic? Desperate? Save face? Those were unnecessary cheap shots at me. What is your problem? I come here to help people, not spend my time correcting everyone's mistake and then attacking them afterwards with mean spirited posts. Maybe you come here to prove how smart you are. If you're having other problems, don't bring them here. Gotta love noobs, they always want to create enemies. :p

iMac 22.5"

So I finally got the new iMac to do something.... No matter what I did with both my Leopard 10.5 disc's they would not boot. I used a retail Snow Leopard disc to erase the hard-drive, and then was able to boot from my leopard disc. took forever. Then when I attempt to install os X 10.5 It says OS X cannot be installed on the computer!!!
I guess it's not Backwards compatible?

So I'm back to SL :(

When was the iMac purchased, what version of the OSX Leopard install discs are you using(which computer are they for?)

 just for the record i downgrade to leopard and protools is working very well :D

but it would be nice to have the downgrade as an option, just for a few pro audio users that want new equipment ; )

Carlos, How were you able to do this. I've tried for two days. Tech support three times, no dice. I'm in serious need of Leopard and Snow is death. I have retail version of 10.5.6 and it will not install. I've already erased Snow, tried partitions with DVD image, tried sharing drive from G5 and nothing will install Leopard on my Mac Pro.

Please Help...

Which Mac are you trying to install 10.5 Leopard on?

I feel your pain. I maintain a few Protools HD systems and I just had to install new hardware ran into the this problem. Protools is roughly a year behind and what I did was partition off the Main OS HD and created a Leopard partition...Installed it to that drive and set it as the boot drive. so far so good
