Downgrade Stuck

3G on 4.0

Tried to downgrade to 3.1 - downloaded Redsnow 9.2 and the 3.1 ipsw from iclaridfied

Put the phone in DFU and started - its stuck on updating ramdisk -- waited 5 min the bar didn't move. Disconnected and switched off.

Downloading the 4.0 ipsw now with redsnow 9.5 so I can get the phone working again

How do i safely downgrade to 3.1? Phone is tooo slow on 4.0

Put your phone in DFU mode and shift-restore (Win) or option-restore (Mac) to a 3.1 firmware file. You may get a 1015 error and end up stuck in recovery mode; if so, download RecBoot or TinyUmbrella, either of which will kick your phone out of recovery mode.

Can someone please give me some guidance.

I have redsnow 0.9.5b5-5 and firmware 4.0ipsw

I also have redsnow 0.9.2 and firmware 3.1ipsw

I've tried both options and it is stuck on :downloading jailbreak data: with the green arrow logo

I just need this phone to work!

re-install 3.1 firmware and do as thelatinist suggests then try re-jailbreaking

my 3g was unlocked on 4.0 and was super slow so i tried downgrading

Didn't work.

Now I'm trying to hacktivate with Redsnow 0.9.5b5 and 4.0ipsw

Its stuck on 'downloading jailbrake data' its been 10 minutes but its not moving forward just stuck there.

hold the home and power button till the device goes off then do dfu mode and restore then try re-jailbreaking

Connect your iPhone to iTunes. Press and hold Power and Home bottons for 10 seconds. After 10 seconds keep pressing the Home botton but release the power botton. Keep holding it until you see iTunes recognize it (usually another 10 seconds).

I had to activate with the original AT&T sim card first then use redsnow to jailbreak.

Im trying but it isn't getting in DFU mode. This is bizarre.

Yes it goes to DFU mode - then says 'downloading jailbreak data' on the phone and the green arrow pointing down

it is stuck on that and isnt moving forward

OK - this is just bizzare.

Now the jailbrake went through - but cydia won't open. I touch the Cydia app icon and it just flashes open/close. It's crashing. How do i fix this so I can unlock?
