I'm curious to try Lion, and figure for $29 I can't go wrong. I really, really, really like Snow Leopard, though. I am not sure I'll like Lion better. My computer is getting up there in age. How hard would a downgrade to SL be if I preferred it to Lion?

You'll need to completely reinstall to get 10.6 back (that includes erasing your HDD beforehand). Clone your HDD before installing Lion so you won't regret if you don't like 10.7.
For mine I am installing Lion on a new HD, that way if I don't like it or something goes wrong I can just pop my old HD back in. Will also be nice to have a fresh start.
