Downgrading from mountain lion back to snow leopard

I upgraded to mountain lion from snow leopard and now my mac freezes at times. I would like to downgrade back to snow leopard. Whats the best way to do this. I use time machine to backup my computer and this has all my pictures on it. I want to make sure I don't lose the pictures.

the only easy way to do it is to copy or your files ie music photos etc onto a external hard drive, there is a really good youtube vid explaining how it is done, its really easy buddie. Good luck 😀
