first of all I cannot longer use the health app, it continues to endlessly search for my steps without showing up with any results. Second, it has messed with my App Store! I cannot longer view purchased apps and it does not remember anything I’ve bought. For instance, I bought facetune and it tells me to buy it again but on my iPad there’s no issue, it gives me the cloud icon to re-install it.

To those asking why I downgrading, it’s because of the news of jailbreak and a possible release of it.i don’t think a jb will fix this horror.

Anyone got some tips how to sort out this mess?

UPDATE:
I reset my iPhone and deleted everything on it and my puchased apps and health app are working again normally. Still on 11.1.2, it’s a Christmas miracle!

Did you restore a newer backup over your downgrade? This probably will not work. Either restore to 11.1.2 without using a backup or use an old backup from 11.1.2.

I had issues with the music app just locking up had to do a clean install. It was strange because it was fine at first but then when I plugged it into the car for Apple CarPlay that was it. Its fine now just in time it would seem.

Had to downgrade an iPad to 11.1.2 from a backup, and the same thing happened. “No purchases” was all that showed up in my iTunes history. Ended up wiping the iPad clean and reinstalling 11.2 fresh and now everything runs fast and smooth, and purchases history returned to the App Store.

I backed up right before downgrading.
Thankfully it’s back now, but I had to do reset with everything wiped clean, so now I’m currently adding all my files back. Mess. Thankfully I’m still on 11.1.2

It’s the worst, right? Thankfully it works again now after wiping everything with a reset. I’m glad I didn’t have to upgrade so I’m still able to jailbreak if one gets released.

So you were able to get your Health data back after the downgrade? That’s the one thing I’m not willing to lose and it boggles my mind that there isn’t some sort of cloud storage for it. One slip up and you can lose years of data.

Yes, but only after resetting it as a new device. There is a cloud storage for it? My health is connected to iCloud :)

How did you reset ? I have the same issue on my iPad. Apple is not signing 11.1.2 more. If I reset by settings, then I’m forced to update to 11.2.1 during the setup process. My iPad is lagging too much.

iCloud does store health now. Independent of backup.

It’s not suppose to update when you reset from your phone or iPad, only through iTunes. Mine didn’t update, I’m still on 11.1.2

How does that work? The only way I was able to get all of my progress to show up was to go back to 11.2.5 and restore from backup there.

Not sure why I’m worrying about it. I’m so used to having a non-JB device and the exploit probably won’t produce anything until after the release of 11.3 anyway.

As long as health is toggled in iCloud and restore the device and sign back into iCloud. Health will restore automatically.

So since I don’t have a backup on 11.1.2 I would have to restore and set up as new to get my health data to show up?

You would have to restore as new regardless if you only had an iCloud backup. Health data is no longer part of an iCloud backup. Only an iTunes encrypted. Health is it’s own deal in iCloud now.

But you need to check “manage iCloud storage” to make sure you see health as a category taking up space to ensure your data was preserved.
