Download file from Safari doesn't auto-open

I have reported this early in the summer, but it still doesn't work. Maybe it's just me:

Downloading files (eg PDF's) doesn't auto-open. I DO have the "Open safe files after downloading" checked in preferences, and I have checked and re-checked it again.

Anyone else that have noticed this? It's extremely annoying to have to manually open files after download!

Ive noticed it also, but on Chrome ( and its forks ) only..... Seems ok on Safari.

Maybe Apple thinks PDFs are not 'safe' - thus stops you from automatically opening them?

That maybe one of the reasons, you may be correct
