Downloaded fonts not showing up in Photoshop?

I've downloaded a few fonts, and they aren't working in photoshop. I've looked at similar posts on here and did what they said, and I've still got nothing. Help?

yeah that happens with free, cheap fonts...who knows if the font was created right. Who knows if it will print correctly. You don't know what you get when you download free fonts. Sometimes they work, sometimes not.

I know that some free fonts don't work, but the thing is they work on other programs I use. So why not photoshop?
