Hi everybody,
I am an Apple Music subscriber using two Apple IDs (a German and a USA one) and have to switch between them from time to time to download a specific app in the App Store / update the apps. My problem is: Everytime I log out from my Apple ID subscribed to Apple Music (even if only for a minute or so, not even opening the "Music" app), my downloaded music is deleted. When I log in again, everything is only in the cloud again and I have to re-download the whole music for local use without streaming.
I understand that this probably is normal behavior – however, it is a problem for me as my cellular data cap is limited and I therefore like to have my music downloaded on the road (which always takes a very long time to download at home again as we are talking about roughly 170GB – bought a 256GB iPhone just because of that).
I secretly hoped that maybe, although not shown anymore, my downloaded music stays saved invisible the background while switching to the other Apple ID for a minute and so, and being back already downloaded when switching back. Not the case though.
I understand that most of the people only have one Apple ID they never logged out from - however, are there really THAT few people with two Apple IDs (or even more, for whatever reasons) who are facing this problem? I don't know if a family plan is the solution for people with two IDs from the same country - in my specific case, even that unfortunately wouldn't work.
Am I out of luck? In this case, the only possibility will be trying to find a way to only have to switch IDs VERY few times. Just want to be sure that there's no other way. (Can't image one, to be honest.) Would be nice if the Apple ID login for App Store and Apple Music was autonomic and separated like the iCloud / App Store is - unfortunately it is not ...
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: Haven't tried yet what happens if I completely close the "Music" app with a swipe up, before switching accounts for a moment, and not opening it again before having logged in back to the Apple Music one ... Will try that out.
