Downloading MacOSX updates for later use

I've just finished installing a hotfix for OSX 10.6.8 that fixes an installer issue and I was thinking to myself "What would I do if I needed to reinstall and Apple had taken the files down", so is there a way for me to download software updates for Mac OSX so I can install them in the future?
