Downloading os4.2 without iPad present

Sorry, another silly question (perhaps).

I've just downloaded OS4.2 for my iPhone, and all is working fine. I'll be getting an iPad off my girlfriend for Xmas, and was wondering if I could download OS4.2 for the iPad before I connect it. My only reason for this is that when I get it I will be unable to get a decent enough internet signal to download it fast, and at the moment I can do it no problem. Is there anywhere I can download it as a file, then when I connect it to my Macbook it would already be on my hard drive?
