My public library, through OpenDrive, allows downloading books onto the iPhone but it has to be done from a PC because of digital rights management issues. My iPhone is synced through my Mac but my wife's computer is a PC. I've downloaded the books to her computer. Can I just connect my iPhone to her computer and download them onto it? Note that she had an iPod that is synced through her computer.

just connect it and copy them to the drive letter it's recognized as. i use my iphone on a HP laptop with Windows 7 and every time i connect it gets it's own drive letter

From what I understand, according to the OpenDrive website, your iphone has to be formated in the Windows format in order for this to work. So I really don't know if it will work for you or not. I use opendrive as well, but have just downloaded some of the .mp3 books only. I have not tried to mess with the other ones yet.

If you do get it to work, please respond back here to let us know how it goes. The mp3 books are very limited, and are mostly much older books. It would be great if we could have access to all that is offered, but I don't want to have to go through reformatting my phone for it and having to use a PC or bootcamp. :(
