I feel like this is a general iOS issue and I’ve Google searched this issue many times with very little luck. But does anyone here know if and why not it is possible to download vector images to an iPhone? I used to do this effortlessly way back when but now any time I download an image without a background, there’s always a white background or a checkered one shows up. I have a business logo I’m trying to add to images that is a png file but shows up as a .jpg when downloaded and annoyingly has a white background. I take a lot of photos for Instagram and use our logo as a watermark but the white background is annoying. Any ideas? I’m using a 13 Pro Max on 16.0.2

there is no problem downloading/transfer and use vector images in any supported format like e.g. SVG or vector PDF on iOS/iPadOS >=14. You can use them in e.g. Apples Pages or Vectornator, Amadine, Affinity Designer or even in Safari. Transparency will be preserved.

Same for PNG.

If you open a pixel-based file and a checkered background is shown - that’s often the default display behaviour for an indeed transparent background/alpha channel mask.

If your PNGs are getting converted to JPEG check the transfer method you are using.

Support for transparency for e.g. creating water marks might depend on the program you use. In any case it is e.g. easy to create a transparent background from a monochrome ne - here is a guide on how to do this to create a watermark in Apple Pages.

Previously I was able to successfully use photoshop mix to add the vector image as a layer but now it always adds a background. I will check some of those apps. Thanks.
