Is it possible to download a video from any web page?
Yes, but it is not possible with all sites, thus one has to combine the methods publicly available.
But, depending on the format, it can be difficult.
Okay thanks. What do you recommend trying?
ClipGrab, Firefox Video Download Helper add-on, Safari's Activity Window (not available with newer versions) and some others.
Maybe have a look at Advanced Search or MRoogle to find dozens upon dozens of similar threads while you wait for more answers:
It didn't work. Thanks. I will keep looking
What methods did you try then with what website? Be aware not to link to porn or illegally uploaded streams of movies or TV shows.
Which site are you trying to get the video off?
Is it likely that there would be a mirror of the video on another more popular site?
It is an interview on a news web site.
Then post a link, since there are many, many news sites out there, hosting a lot of interviews.

In my adhoc efforts on this, I've found that different add-ons for different browsers can works for different sites. Downloading is only half the problem, as it may come as swf, for example, and then you have to figure out how to play that. Downloadhelper on FFox seems to work for many. BetterChrome, too.
One way is screen-scraping -- play the video and record screen and audio. Camtasia and Screenflow are helpful here. Jing is free, but limited unless you pay. QT can record audio, or video, but not both at the same time.
This is the message I got from download helper: "This site is not listed as supported into our sites database.
If Video DownloadHelper cannot capture from this site, it is extremely likely that this is due to the site using a streaming technology we do not support, like RTMP or RTMPE. Although we are working on new capture solutions, there is nothing DownloadHelper can do for now, no matter how good the site is.
You may want to try other video capture products like Replay Media Catcher or Replay Video Capture.
Anyway, your request for capturing from this site has been logged, so we can track what sites our users want in priority.
I found an app that would download it on my iPhone. Thanks for trying to help
