I am quite lucky, just need 5-10min to download for all my 3 Apple Watches. Now all of them are updated. I really like this WatchOS 4. Bigger key pad to unlock (much much easier to press the correct number now), very beautiful and useful Siri watch face, flash light from control centre.......

The only downside so far is that I prefer the WatchOS 3 dock (activated by the side button) much more than the WatchOS 4 apps switcher.

Why would my phone app be telling me this??

iPhone 7 Plus. Watch Series 1.

Because you need to update your iPhone to iOS 11 first.

does anybody have WatchOS 4.X.X ipsw? I need to restore the system via iTunes.

I believe that cable is worthless without the proprietary software too. You may can change the battery with it but i bet that is all.

This is the cable for Apple Watch DFU. The ipsw is actually available if you search hard enough, but I can tell you that the process is super slow. It only worth if required downgrade or flash the normal firmware back in (to replace the demo firmware), etc.

Thank you for your reply. Well I have locked the passcode of the cracked screen. Than I changed the screen and now the force touch doesn't work. The display doesn't have the problem. This problem started after I changed the display. I'm stuck now. I can't delete the content to pair the watch again. I need to restore the WatchOS. Only hope that I have right now is this cable for Watch DFU. In addition to that I need .ipsw but I need Version 4.X.X to make upgrade possible.
Please suggest what I can do....

You changed the screen by someone else but not Apple? If it’s done by Apple, they should provide 3 months warranty regardless if your watch is within the original warranty or not.

Also, if this is a hardware problem, re-install the OS won’t help anything.

To re-pair the watch, from memory, you just need to go to the watch setting -> general -> reset -> erase all content and setting. No need to use force touch.

The cable cost able half of the watch (sport version), if you only need to use once, it’s a bit hard to justify the cost. Is it possible for you to take the watch to Apple, and just ask them to restore the firmware for you? That should be free of charge regardless if you have Apple care or not.

Also, my understanding is that any firmware version can do the job, not necessary use 4.x.x for DFU.

I have bought the cracked screen apple watch on ebay. It’s iCloud free. Half Display was working so I was trying to unlock the passcode. So I locked the watch. It’s not pair with my iPhone. I bouyght iCloud watch same version and changed the screen. But force touch doesn work to make it reset. I am preet sure that restoring device can solve this issue. I just need to find the .ipsw...
