Downloading

I'm on a Macbook Pro, with the 1gig of memory, 2.16ghz, etc. and running Firefox as my main browser.

Whenever I download a file, and i have it save automatically to my desktop or it asks me to save it the file does not display there, i have to go into finder find it, and when i click on it, then it shows this on the desktop...why??

Please help.

edit, this also happens when i extract a file to the desktop, it will not display until i find it and click on it in finder. ..... this is quite annoying.

That used to happen with me as well, but the last couple of updates fixed it. I would make sure you're running the last version of OS X. (OS X.4.8)

Yeah, I'm running Version 10.4.8.
